Why Stay One More Moment Exists
Stay One More Moment began with a devastating loss, and a belief that even the smallest moment of connection can matter.
Sometimes a moment is all we have. And sometimes, it can be enough.
A message. A phone call. Someone noticing. Someone asking the question. Someone willing to listen. Someone staying beside you when the next hour feels impossible.
We can’t know which moment might change something.
But we can create more of them.
For My Niece
Stay One More Moment was born from the loss of my niece, who died by suicide.
But her story is not the story of how she died.
She was a whole person.
She was funny and full of personality. She loved animals, especially dogs. She had dreams for her future and a heart for caring for others.
She was loved. She mattered. And she should still be here.
Stay One More Moment exists because her life was bigger than her final moment, and because every person deserves the chance for their hardest moment not to become their last.

From Loss to Purpose
Stay One More Moment is for the person wondering how they’re going to make it through today. It’s for the person worried about someone they love. And it’s for the people learning how to live in a world that changes after losing someone to suicide.
The idea is simple: create more moments that make connection possible.
More reasons to check in. More courage to ask the hard question. More honest conversations about suicide and mental health. More support for the people who are grieving. And more reminders that needing help is human.
Because we may never know which conversation, message, person, or moment becomes the reason someone stays.
What began in grief is becoming something larger, a movement built on connection, compassion, remembrance, and the belief that small moments can change lives.

What We Believe
Every life is more than its hardest moment.
A crisis can feel permanent when it isn’t. We believe in creating space for another moment, another conversation, and another possibility.
Connection matters.
We don’t always need perfect words. Sometimes noticing, asking, listening, and staying present are powerful places to begin.
We can talk about suicide.
Open compassionate conversations can replace silence and shame with understanding, connection, and a path toward help.
Those left behind need support, too.
Suicide leaves grief that can be complicated and isolating. The people carrying that loss deserve understanding, community, and room for their own stories.
A life should be remembered for how it was lived.
The people we lose are more than the way they died. We can speak their names, tell their stories, remember their joy, and carry their love foreword.
Small moments matter. And together, we can create more of them.
Be Part of the Next Moment
Stay One More Moment began because of one life and one unimaginable loss. But it was never meant to belong to only one person or one family.
It belongs to anyone willing to help create the next moment.
To the person who sends the text. The friend who asks twice. The stranger who shares a message someone needed to see. The person who tells their story. The people who keep a loved one’s memory alive. And the person who decides, somehow, to stay.
One moment can become a conversation. A conversation can become connection. And connection can become a reason to keep going.
